My car runs like a champ 99% of the time, but every so often after an extended drive (45min +), I will sometimes get a complete loss of ability to accelerate. Engine is still running, boost gauge fluctuates with depressing the accelerator. This only occurs in these conditions: 5th gear, cruising between 50-65mph. First time it happened I thought the motor had died off, but the car remains running. Oddly enough, if I shift from 5th into neutral, release clutch, It will freely rev and have normal instant throttle and response and I can put it back into gear and the problem is gone. I'm wondering if the low RPM high gear cruising speed may be sending a weak voltage to the MAF, causing it to malfunction, but the 'shift out of it' solution kinda makes me double guess. I'm going to be digging through it later so any help would be appreciative.
